We are pleased to announce our first web seminar, "[Cosmetics] 2020, China Cross-border e-commerceFrontline - New Marketing Trends and New Regulations -" for those who are active in the marketing departments of major Japanese companies.

With the recent COVID-19 impact in China, online activities for consumption are accelerating more and more, and the commercial opportunities for e-commercebusiness in China are expected to continue. At the same time, careful information gathering and actions related to the fast-changing Chinese legal system and government trends are required.

ALTHOUGH THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK IS SAID TO BE UNDER CONTROL IN CHINA AND THE ECONOMY HAS RESUMED, THERE IS STILL MISTRUST AMONG CITIZENS, BRICK-AND-MORTAR SALES ARE NOT RISING, AND THE COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR "NEST EGG" OR "REVENGE" CONSUMPTION IN CHINA E-COMMERCEARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE. IN THIS CONTEXT, SEVERAL COMPANIES ARE BUILDING THEIR OWN E-COMMERCEAS WELL AS MALL FLAGSHIP STORES, SUCH AS ALIBABA, AND UTILIZING NEW MARKETING TECHNIQUES TO REACH CONSUMERS. Institutional Improvement and Regulatory Tightening in China: Impact on Japanese Companies in General Trade and Cross-border e-commerce

Currently on cross-border e-commerce, goods that are not authorized for sale in China are being sold without regulation. However, recent developments in the Chinese government have revealed a desire to strengthen cross-border e-commerceregulations.
Administrative registration (NMPA) of cosmetics sold in China may become mandatory for cross-border e-commercesales as early as this year.
Why is the Chinese government tightening regulations now? We will introduce the background behind the government's tightening of controls, along with the government's institutional development to date and the flow of tightening regulations.
We will also introduce the problems of IP infringement faced by Chinese business along with administrative applications.
