eLife Employees Planning & Management Consultant Joined the company in 2010

Main Job at eLife and way of working

We provide planning and management consulting services for community sites, e-commerce sites, websites, SNS, etc. For online communication between companies and consumers.

For the first five years after joining the company, I commuted to the Tokyo office and worked as a sales representative to close new deals.
In 2013, I moved to Kobe City for my husband's work, and my role changed from sales to consultant, but I did not need to change my working style at all, as a remote work environment was available at that time.
I coordinate all the people in charge of the system, production, and operation departments, and I serve as a point of contact for communication with clients, traveling as needed, and promoting multiple projects for which I am in charge.

Remote work is now becoming more common, but I feel that the flexible thinking of our company, which was one of the first to believe that "you can't work unless you work in an office," is unique to eLife, which offers its own unique plans and services.

Why did you join eLife?

I thought I could make use of my work experience at a marketing consulting firm.
I also sympathized with the business policy of "dealing directly with customers is our motto.

What were some of the challenges you faced when you joined the company?

Proposals to customers are subject to internal checks before they are submitted.
They are rigorously examined to see if they really solve the customer's problem if they are enjoyable for the consumer, and if they are unique to eLife, and ideas that are just a temporary fix will not receive an OK. This period of contemplation is extremely difficult.
However, I have experienced many times that once a project is accepted, the client appreciates it and the project proceeds smoothly with good results.

I spend my free time, but the tasks I care about are always in the corner of my mind, and I find myself gathering information or checking my schedule and to-dos for the next day.

What do you feel you have grown since joining the company?

I hope it is growing...I am not so sure myself.
eLife is not a so-called pyramid organization, but an amoeba-shaped flexible organization. There are no barriers such as year or position, and each individual has greater responsibility and freedom. In this environment, I have made many small and large mistakes and reflected on them, so I may be able to respond earlier if a course correction is necessary. I think it is also my role to call on members who seem to be having problems as soon as possible.
I may say that I am growing in my efforts to act in this way.

What would you like to try at eLife?

Currently, I am mainly doing consulting work for clients, but I would like to take on the challenge of eLife creating my own products and services and spreading them around the world.
eLifeIn the "I want to challenge myself to create my own product or service and spread it around the world." "I want to challenge myself to create my own product or service and spread it around the world. I am amazed at the originality and spontaneity of employees of various nationalities and backgrounds. I am sure that if these members think together, they will come up with something wonderful.
